Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside is proud to receive the Silver Award in the 2026 Oppidan Mentoring Awards, recognising the school’s outstanding commitment to student mentoring and holistic education through its partnership with Oppidan Education. 

The international awards celebrate schools demonstrating excellence and innovation in mentoring practice, highlighting initiatives that make a meaningful impact on student development, wellbeing and confidence. Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside was recognised for its sustained commitment to supporting students through its Year 9 1:1 mentoring programme, which brings together students, parents, mentors and staff in a collaborative approach to personal growth and character development. Judges were especially impressed by the work done to align mentoring with the school’s core values and the Senior School Student Profile. 

The award celebrates our deliberate and intentional efforts to provide a carefully sequenced programme for all Year 9 students, which includes a combination of in-person workshops and bespoke 1:1 online mentoring with UK-based experts. Parents have also played an important role in supporting students through this programme, attending workshops, providing guidance and engaging with students’ mentoring reports. This engagement once again reinforces the strong partnership between school and home that is a hallmark of the Shrewsbury Riverside community.

Since its first introduction in 2024-25, the developing programme reflects the school’s commitment to equipping students with the communication skills, emotional awareness and confidence needed to flourish at school and beyond, supporting them to become thoughtful, resilient and future-ready young people.
