From Concept to Creation: Alumni Chevy’s Journey to International Success

Buddy Design Inc is a wellness conscious design company founded by one of our Alumna – Swipakorn (Chevy) Chanpaiboonrat, Class of 2019. Born during the making of her senior project at the acclaimed Parsons School of Design in New York where she studied BFA Product Design.

Buddy Design Inc combines wellness, innovation, sustainability and creativity.

Swipakorn (Chevy) Chanpaiboonrat credits Shrewsbury’s Design & Technology programme for providing the hands-on skills and knowledge that laid the foundation for her career.

“I spent most of my time in the DT department at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside, learning about materials, production methods, and design theories, which gave me a head start at Parsons. As of now, Buddy’s success has led to recognition in the 2023 Arts Thread Global Design Graduates competition where it was ranked amongst the top 5% of competitors. Orders are being accepted in the USA and Thailand, with deliveries beginning in March 2025.

It’s always a pleasure to see the futures that our Shrewsbury students pursue, achieving success across various fields. We are especially proud of their conscious efforts to become changemakers, developing ideas that combat societal issues.
