Traces of Thinking: Inside the Early Years Gallery Exhibition
article Our Spotlight Riverside Early years SHR Article
The Early Years 1 and 2 Gallery Exhibition at Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside offered a powerful insight into the depth of thinking, creativity and collaboration that takes place within our Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environment. The exhibition invited our community to experience how children explore ideas with curiosity and confidence.

This year’s gallery, Traces of Thinking: Through Encounters with Charcoal, Clay and Fabric, is centred around three ateliers that have shaped children’s learning throughout the year. Through sustained exploration with charcoal, clay and fabric, children investigated ideas, revisited theories and expressed their understanding in a variety of meaningful ways.

A particularly special aspect of the exhibition was the exploration of fabric through a Northern Thai cultural context, honouring the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and Thailand’s rich textile traditions. Through this work, children connected creativity with culture, storytelling and identity, while developing an appreciation for materials as tools for communication and expression.

Across the gallery, we could see how learning evolves through reflection, collaboration and shared experiences. More than a display of artwork, the exhibition celebrated children as capable thinkers and researchers whose ideas are valued and made visible through purposeful learning experiences.
