Celebrating Alumni Success: Arisa Chindahporn (Bambi), Class of 2016

Alumni Exceptional People

Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside, is proud to highlight the remarkable journey of alumni Arisa Chindahporn (Bambi), Class of 2016. She is currently a 3rd-year Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Intern at Thammasat University Hospital, Bambi’s dedication to her academic and professional pursuits has led her to exciting opportunities, such as working as a volunteer physician with the Thai Paralympic Team.

Bambi’s path in higher education reflected the same determination and commitment that characterised her school years. After pursuing her medical studies, she developed a keen interest in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This field allows her to combine her passion for helping people with her love of sports. Now a PM&R Intern at Thammasat University Hospital, Bambi focusses on restoring function and improving the quality of life for patients recovering from injuries or living with chronic conditions. Hard work, perseverance, and an eagerness to make a tangible difference in the lives of others have marked her academic journey.

One of Bambi’s most remarkable accomplishments so far is her role as a volunteer physician with the Thai Paralympic Team during their pre-competition training in Bourgoin-Jallieu, France. Bambi had the critical responsibility of providing medical care and rehabilitation support to the athletes as the team prepared for the upcoming Paris Paralympic Games. The team was able to focus on their performance, with Bambi treating any injuries while ensuring the overall well-being of the team.

Reflecting on her years at Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside, Bambi fondly recalls her involvement in sports as a member of the Silver Team Shrewsbury for athletics and football. Her time on the football pitch instilled in her the values of teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Bambi’s contributions to school life extended beyond sports; she also took on a leadership role as Head of School, where she developed strong communication and organisational skills. Since graduating, she has stayed connected to the Shrewsbury community and attended various alumni events such as Speech Days and Last Night of the Proms, sometimes even taking to the stage to perform as a solo vocalist.

The school is incredibly proud to see her flourishing as both a medical professional and a passionate advocate for the power of sport. Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside cultivates well-rounded, global citizens who are equipped to make a meaningful impact on the world.

This experience was both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling, as she worked closely with elite athletes, helping them push boundaries and achieve their best. As Bambi continues to combine her love for sports with her medical career, we are confident that her journey is only just beginning, and we look forward to seeing all that she will accomplish in the future.
