Pastoral Support
Shrewsbury International School Bangkok is dedicated to the holistic wellbeing of its students, ensuring they feel safe, supported and empowered. With a focus on pastoral care and safeguarding, the school fosters an environment where each child is valued, respected and able to thrive.
Committed to creating a nurturing community, Shrewsbury Bangkok provides individual attention and support to students. Every student has a dedicated teacher overseeing their progress, while additional support is available through the School Listening Team and Learning Mentor for those facing barriers to learning.
Furthermore, the school’s safeguarding procedures, informed by international standards and Thai legislation, ensure that students feel safe to express their concerns and that all staff are equipped to respond effectively. Through its emphasis on health and safety, Shrewsbury International School Bangkok prioritises the wellbeing and development of its students throughout their stay in the school.
Well-Being Team
The school employs a specialist Well-being Team, who works in both the Junior and Senior sections of the school.
The role of the Well-being Team is to support our students in overcoming barriers to learning and to help them reach their full potential. Social, emotional, or behavioral issues may be the root of these barriers. The Well-being Team will, based on a deep understanding of the pressures students face within the school and beyond, work with them to help establish a positive and productive approach to school life.
Alongside teachers and tutors, the Well-Being Team including a Specialist School Counsellor also provides an important connection for families with the school, helping to advise parents on how to help their children achieve a happy and healthy work-life balance.
