Ski Trip 2010
Shrewsbury students hit the slopes in Japan with style!
Over the half term break when the rest of us were relaxing and recharging the batteries, 37 students from Shrewsbury travelled to Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan for the annual Ski Trip to the powder capital of the world.
This was an experience of a life time and we skied in some of the best snow conditions in the world. The students spent six days in Niseko perfecting their techniques in snowboarding and skiing under the guidance of the six ski instructors from the Niseko Village Ski School.
This year, we stayed in the Green Leaf Hotel which is the only true ski-in/ski-out accommodation in Niseko. This allowed for direct access to the slopes and night skiing on our door step.
Vast improvements were made by all students and this was evident in the final day when they entered into the slalom competition. A special mention must go to the beginner groups who showed great improvement over the course of the week.
During the fun-packed week the students also participated in tobogganing, snow rafting, indoor rock climbing, skateboarding and a trip to the famous onsens (hot springs) in Hokkaido.
The trip ended with a visit to Tokyo Disneyland and a shopping spree where our students stocked up on the newest electronics and fashions from the coolest city in Asia.
