As each child spoke about their ambitions, we were whisked into the future to see their dreams fulfilled.

We were taken to visit South Africa, China, Cuba, France and the USA. Along with glittering costumes, exotic music and wonderful dance and singing routines there was a strong underlying message. ‘We can all be whatever we want to be, we just have to believe in ourselves and reach for the stars’.

Well done to the children for working so hard to learn their lines and their routines and also to all the staff and parents without whom our wonderful show would not have been possible.

To see the gallery of pictures, click here

The children performed songs, dances and acted out stories that gave the audience a taste of the culture of the five featured countries.

The show, which was called One Community One Family, also included a demonstration of Tai Chi, an ancient martial art from China. The children performed the display with great poise and impressed everyone with how long they could balance on one leg!

The scene from Thailand included a traditional dance and also a demonstration of how to make som tam – the famous spicy papaya salad. A stunning display of costumes from the different tribes in Kenya was followed by some Morris dancing from England and the history of the traditional village country fair.

The show was brought to an end by an amazing Indian dance sequence.

Well done, the children of Year 4.

To view the picture gallery, click here
