Gymnastics
Gymnastics is one of the most popular and advanced sports at Shrewsbury with the club holding over 80 members. Students are selected for the club through talent identification from their Gymnastics curriculum lessons in the junior school. The clubs structure focuses on Olympic Gymnastics in our purpose built gymnastics facility using the Australian Level Systems. Our gymnasts have a demanding schedule of competitions throughout the academic year with six major meets, two of which require travelling to Singapore. During these events we continue to prove ourselves as one of the leading gymnastics schools in South East Asia.
Gymnastics is an all year round sport at Shrewsbury where dedicated gymnastics coaches develop skill, conditioning and understanding of this exciting but difficult sport.

SHB Storm “Flip” into the New Year at the BPS Gymnastics Invitational
Fifty two gymnasts from SHB travelled to BPS this weekend to compete in the first gymnastics meet of the year. All of our gymnasts had been training extremely hard for this meet but scheduled at the end of trips week and the Christmas holidays it meant that it was going to be a long and hard two days for our teams.
Under the guidance of our coaches all of our teams competed with fantastic effort, determination and skill level. Our teams were using this as a preparation training comp for the forthcoming meet in March so some very good positives good be taken away for each gymnast. A special mention must go to our Level 1 Girls Team who were overall winners in their category. For some of these gymnasts this was the first time they had competed in a full competition. Also, a special mention to our Level 0 Boys, who were made up of Year 1 and Year 2 students. They competed with great determination. Well done! Stars of the future.
